It's official!

We're going to Europe! We bought the tickets yesterday! We'll be leaving on August 12th, and returning to Canada on December 13th. That's a looooooong time.

Hopefully having the tickets and the looming departure date will make us get our butts in gear and start planning where we want to go. Europe isn't that big... is it?

Babes, bunnies, and burgers

Ha! I knew that would catch your attention! And, like most headlines, this one is also horrendously misleading. Guess which one doesn't belong?

Carolyn, Alex, Carolyn's Newfoundlander friend Mike, and I drove up to Ottawa for a weekend of joviality and perhaps some frivolity. We initiated Alex and Mike into the city by showing them the major attractions: Parliament, Rideau Canal, beaver tails, the Glebe Emporium (according to Carolyn's Guide to Ottawa, this kitchen store is a "must-see"). The Tulip Festival was also going on, but unfortunately it rained most of the weekend, so my camera slept for much of the trip.

On the way home, we made the annual stop at the Big Apple. This visit was much more enjoyable because there were little bunnies, and none of them marked me! Yay! So here are some of the photos.

Oh right, the burgers. We ate at a restaurant called The Works. They have 32 kinds of milkshakes and they specialize in burgers... with anything and everything on them. I got the Fruit Loop: a beef burger topped with pineapple, pears, bananas and swiss cheese. Yum!

A day in the park

Taking advantage of the lovely weather yesterday, Ryan and I took a constitutional through our backyard (a.k.a. Victoria Park), accompanied by our faithful cameras. Here are some photos from the venture.
