14 hours until takeoff....

And I'm still at work tying up all the loose ends. And I still need to pack. And get the rest of my suit (shirt, vest, tie). And pay off bills. And get extra memory card. And...

Yay camera!

I got my camera back today from the cleaners! They packed it in an M&Ms box for some reason. I haven't tested it out yet, but I'll likely find out tonight. Cross your fingers.

Cool links

Oh, I found a cool website.

Ah ha! Just when you least expect it...

Another post! I'm so sneaky.

Ok, here's the low-down. My sister is getting married - in England - on August 12th, so Carolyn and I are flying over there and taking two weeks vacation for it. This is probably review for most of you. We're spending the first 3 days in London, despite terrorists' attempts to keep us away. Then, a day with my sister in her neck of the woods (Cuddington, Cheshire). After that, we drive up for 7 days in Scotland, hitting Glasgow, Fort William, Isle of Skye, Inverness, Loch Ness, Falkirk, and Edinburgh... and anything else we can cram in. Then there's this business about the wedding. And the home on the 15th.

So then I have a glorious week at home to relax, and then I'm flying down to Arizona for 2 weeks. And when I get back, I may see Carolyn for a few hours before she flies off to China for a couple weeks. Oi vey, we're quite the jet-setting couple. Hopefully we'll see each other for a few days before Christmas.

Oh, that reminds me. I have the stupid pager again for the Thankgiving weekend. :( Ah well, at least it'll allow me to improve on my highscore in BrickBreaker!

Is there such a thing as 'blogger's-block?'

Yes, I know I'm horrible at updating my blog. It's a lot easier when you're away somewhere and there's stuff going on all the time (and more importantly, lots of pictures being taken).

So what's up with me? Busy busy with work, which is great. I'm at the stage in my current project where I can really just get down and work.

Canada Day weekend was great. On Friday, Carolyn and I went to Columbia Lake to see the fireworks; they had some funky ones that had secondary explosions after the initial one, so it looked a bit like atomic fission or something. The next day we went up to Goderich, as we were kindly invited by the Wightmans. We had a great time, and only minor scrapes and bruises from playing soccer with the little ones. The fireworks show that night was good too. I should have pictures up shortly (but I've been known to say that before).

How about a basketball update? On Tuesday we had our double-header: the first game being against the first team we played this season (and lost to by 3 points), and the second game being against the team that beat us by about 70 points. Oh, did I mention that our team is 0-6 this season? Anyway, we finally had our full roster, plus an extra player, so that we all could be well-rested. The end result? We won the first game by about 15 points, and then handed the other team what I think is their first loss of the season. This sounds like a Disney movie in the making. Kudos to the guys for playing so well.

[EDIT: ok, so I just found the latest standings, and it turns out we didn't beat the best team... but they're the highest-scoring team. Apparently we play the top team next week. But I am pleased to announce that we're now tied for second-last!]

Less than four weeks until we go to England & Scotland! We have a bunch of things booked already. We'll be doing 2-3 days in London, and then 6-7 days in Scotland. Anyone have suggestions? I mean, besides the obvious things that everyone sees, like the Tower of London. I can't wait, although there is so much to do before then. Like get my camera cleaned (which means driving to Mississauga twice), figure out how to take wedding photos, and finish those dancing lessons. (Oh, if I didn't mention earlier, we're going to my sister's wedding.) Hmm. I should probably buy a suit.
