Merry Christmas from Jolly Jack!

Jack just loves the Christmas season, and he would like to send a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone*. He's a bit modest, but I thought everyone should know that he's lost 1.6 pounds since he's been with us. The vet says that we're exactly on pace with the recommended 1/2 pound per month. Yay Jack!

*Everyone being the half-dozen people that read my blog.

Photos du jour

Decided to play with my external flash a bit. It's an old Vivitar flash, and my camera doesn't quite know how to talk to it, so I have to set everything manually. But boy, does it make a difference. But bouncing the light off the ceiling, the colours are much richer. I would post pics comparing the camera flash to the external flash... but I'm afraid that nobody would visit my blog again.

I would love to get the latest Nikon flash... but it's about $500... so it can wait. For now.

Photopalooza!

I'm not one to promote anything related to Microsoft... however, in this one case, I will make an exception, because this is pretty neat.

Check this out:

http://www.wwmx.org/

It's basically an online photo repository, indexed by location. So you browse photos based on where the photo was taken. Think GPS system strapped to a digital camera. It's kinda neat looking at photos of KW, and seeing on a map where each one was taken.

The interface isn't that great, but I figure it's only a matter of time before Google does something similar, except faster and better.

Nighttime in Victoria Park

We braved the bitter cold on Friday night, and took a brief walk through Victoria Park. Well, what I mean by that is, we walked quickly for 20 seconds to the nearest photo spot, and while I fumbled around with my camera equipment, Carolyn went to wait in the car (not that I can blame her). Next time we're bringing hats.

Anyway, here is one of the photographs I took.
